Planning, Personnel & Volunteers

Susan Baker made an oral and written presentation. The committee has decided to undertake a Habitat for Humanity project under the direction of Jeff Webb and Jerry Lyndrup with Don Snow’s help. The committee decided that Calvary should fund this project with $1000 from PPV allocation and the balance coming from parish fundraising i.e. poinsetta fund, etc. This met with Vestry approval.

Lou Henson has become co-chair of the Hospitality Committee along with Pattie Davidson.

A Thanksgiving Sunday for all volunteers will be undertaken Sunday Nov. 24th.

Budget & Finance

Harvey Turner’s report gave a review that highlighted current pledging as well as the current deficit. Budget accepted.

There ensued a discussion of the legal status of the Endowment Fund as a separate entity.

A motion made by J. Hendon, seconded by Joan Wempe that a committee made of Beverly Haverstock, Jamie Hendon and Jim Hill be established to review the Church bylaws and to confirm the questioned legal status of the Endowment. This will also confirm the Vestry’s oversight of the Endowment (passed unanimously).

Rector’s Report

Dick Humke gave an update of parishioners. He also discussed the roles of particular holidays in church services.

In preparation of a new rector search, Dick reviewed several interesting points of the National and Diocese of Kentucky Canons.

The church is also going to benefit from a new piano.

Stewardship

Ruth Robins reported the current Every Member Canvas now stands at $205,576 coming from 112 households. There was a reminder about the Vestry’s role in contacting those who have yet pledged and also send Thank you notes.
