Vestry Minutes
October 21, 2003
(Reconvened October 26, 2003)
Present: Will Cary, Art Dietz, Michele Wogaman, Elyse Hensley, Gail
Richardson, Sandra Cherry, Sally Reisz, Ginger Grizzle, Clyde Warner, Don Snow,
Jerry Lyndrup, Jeff Webb, Harvey Turner, Fr. Dick Humke and John Bugbee, Search
Committee Chairman.
Absent: Ruth Robins
The continuation of the October 21,
2003 Vestry Meeting was called to order by Will Cary at 12:40 P.M. Father Humke offered an opening prayer and
Will Cary asked the Vestry if they had had adequate time to review the
recommendation and packet of information compiled by the Calvary Search
Committee. The Vestry was then asked if
there were any questions concerning the report and recommendation.
Ginger Grizzle made a motion to go
into Executive Session. Jerry Lyndrup
seconded and the motion carried.
Ginger Grizzle made a motion to go
back into regular session of the Vestry Meeting. Jerry Lyndrup seconded and the motion carried.
Art Dietz made the motion that the
Vestry of Calvary Episcopal Church call the Reverend Marcus Vance to be its
next Rector. Sally Reisz seconded the
motion and the motion carried unanimously.
Harvey Turner compiled and
presented compensation and benefit packages for the Vestry to review before
deciding upon what would be a fair and equitable package for the newly called
Rector.
Art Dietz made the motion to give
the Senior Warden the authority to negotiate a compensation and benefits
package with the Reverend Marcus Vance ranging from $93,131 to $100,211. Harvey Turner seconded. Discussion ensued and Jerry Lyndrup called
for the question. The motion carried.
A motion was made by Jeff Webb to
adjourn. The meeting was adjourned.
