Calvary’s Vision

Calvary Church is the heart & face of the Episcopal Church, providing spiritual growth and ministry in the renaissance of downtown Louisville and surrounding neighborhoods.

Calvary’s Mission Statement

In thanksgiving for having been called as children of God to a life of service, we share with one another the love and obedience of Christ Jesus our Lord. This means that in Calvary Church, as a liturgical church seeking to bring Christ to a world in need, we believe that it is our mission to offer Him:

        to an expanding circle of friends and acquaintances and to our immediate neighborhood through

-- the worship of God in Word and Sacrament;

-- teaching and learning the Christian Life and the Church’s Tradition;

-- the offering of choral and instrumental music;

-- care for one another through prayer, visitation, fellowship;

-- increasing participation by all members in the life and work of the Church.

        to those in the community at large who need the Church’s ministry through

-- increasing use of the church’s facilities and staff for ministry in the community at large;

-- increasing our direct aid and comfort to those in physical and emotional need;

-- encouraging and supporting the personal involvement of our members in vocations and avocations which work toward establishing Christ’s Kingdom on earth.
