Dear Calvary Family Member,
Welcome to the next step in our life together. Many of you are already aware of the ongoing work of the Long Range Planning Committee which began in June 2006. After almost a year of reflection and prayer, we now feel it is time to begin taking concrete steps toward building on a strong foundation in order to ensure a strong future for Calvary.
Enclosed you will find three additional items.
an overview of Calvary's Long Range Plan
a feedback form
an envelope in which to return the form to the church
In this effort, the Long Range Planning Committee is attempting to be as inclusive and comprehensive as possible. We hope that you will take time to read the enclosed plan, that you will pray for this effort, reflect on what is trying to be accomplished by our church, write down your feedback on the enclosed form, and send it back to the church.
You are an important part of Calvary's rich past, integral to our dynamic present experience, and are absolutely essential to our great future together. We heard recently in our Sunday lectionary for Fifth Easter, See, I am making all things new (Revelation 21:5). Just as the resurrection of Jesus was a new way into a new life, so God continues to create new ways for us to live in community and we are called to make this experience a reality for as many as we can.
Please plan on being an active participant in our ongoing long range planning and process. Thank you and God bless you.
Sincerely,
J. Edward Morris James R. Hendon Jr.
